| Status:If you are interested in deploying as a first time Short-Term Observer (STO) with AmentumSPEO during the calendar year 2024, enter the vacancy number 2024NewSTO. The average length of deployment is 7-10 days. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will be contacted for interviews, reference checks and pre-deployment administration. Please apply by 1 August 2024 for best consideration for Fall 2024 deployment.
Minimum Qualifications for Short-Term Observers (STOs) include: Prior experience observing or administering elections, which may include working or volunteering in a polling station as either an observer or administrator. Proven ability to demonstrate cultural understanding and sensitivity and to exercise sound, independent judgment in politically sensitive environments. Excellent health. Ability to work in a stressful environment under field conditions, including long hours over extended periods (day and night). Freedom from concurrent commitments that could produce conflict of interest with the election observation mission. Preparedness to read briefing materials, understand procedural instructions and complete election observation forms accurately. Written and spoken English language fluency; knowledge of the host-country language is desirable. Knowledge of the host-country region is desirable.
